Step #1: Add your kid(s)

Add your kid’s email and create a password for them.

Make sure you save the password somewhere (copy and paste it onto a doc, or use a password manager etc.) so you can send it to them later.

Repeat for any additional kids you’d like to add. (kids from your family, not friends of your kid)

Step #2: Add some notes

Head to your Dashboard, pick a guide, then open any moment inside it and leave a note for your kid to find. Write one, or fifty. Do a few now and come back whenever. There’s no clock on this, and it doesn’t matter whether your kid has logged in yet. You can leave notes before you invite them and keep adding long after they’ve started poking around.

Step #3: Invite your kid(s)

When you are ready to gift Here’s How to your kid(s), let them know.

Do it in person, send an email, wrap up a gift with printed instructions … whatever you want. Just make sure they get this url: HeresHow.Guide/New-Member and their password.

You know those "Open when you're homesick," or "Open when you can't sleep" gifts parents give to their kids when they leave home? It's like that, except it's a whole app-like site, and instead of a nice "You're amazing!" note inside, it's actual advice for the thing that's actually happening to you right then.

It's called Here's How. There's a page for a bunch of situations: bombing a test, a roommate who never cleans, how to email a professor without sounding twelve, what to do when your card gets declined at the worst possible moment. You look it up right when it's going on, and there's a straight answer waiting. No lecture, no "I told you so."

Here's the thing. I'm not worried about you. You're capable, and I'm not expecting a phone call every time something goes sideways. You'll figure out most of it yourself, and the stuff you can't, you're smart enough to go looking for help on. This is just that help, sitting in your pocket for whenever you decide you want it. You'll know when.
